Native American Breast plate
$65.00
Using beads from several “gently worn” necklaces obtained from trips to the Salvation Army andusing dowel rods from the Home Depot, this colorful necklace was created after a visit to the Museum of Natural History in Pittsburg. I was so impressed with the beauty of this ancient design that I quickly sketched it out when I got to the parking lot. How did they do creat such intricate pieces without modern equipment?
Earrings included.
Description
The term “breast plate” refers to the use of these large necklaces to protect the warriors from arrows during battle. They were eventually replaced when guns became available, but the use of them for ornamentation continued. The selling point here is the incredible colors. It looks great with a black dress! Notice the gallery photo of this piece on display at the WMODA in Dania Beach. Earrings included.
