A CD is a difficult material to re-purpose. The thin glassy coating shatters and scratches easily while you cut it. I did find success however with the precision saw I use to cut glass for stained glass art.

Description
Once cut, I filed the edges smooth. But the next challenge is that the CD surface is easily scratched. It has to be protected with tape while working with it. The tape will also help avoid getting glue where you don’t want it. It is definitely one of the most challenging materials to work with but has a great look and sure promotes lots of conversation! Earrings included.
