Back to my box of sheet rubber scraps…look at the additional images to see a photo of the barrel of sheet rubber scraps I found in an art supply re-use center. Not only are the colors vivid but this material is easy to cut, easy to glue and can be “carved” into almost any shape. It is virtually weightless so you won’t even know you are wearing a necklace.

Description
I was delighted to see the barrel of rubber sheets at the scrap art material store. The store is in downtown Portland and is simply called “SCRAP”…it is non-profit and all materials in this huge warehouse are donated. The place is always abuzz with children and artists and teachers all shopping for materials that will soon become treasures. I found that I could glue sheets together, cut them into shapes with a razor blade, and file the edge using a nail files to make them smooth. You will see other designs, using the same materials, in the website. Earrings included.
