The “barrel” center is a stone called Lapis Lazuli which is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone in jewelry. It is thought by some to help bring inner peace and calm to the wearer. When professionally polished the deep blue color becomes intense.

Description
The center barrel shaped stone is genuine Lapis Lazuli, however the smaller stones were used to enhance the piece but can not be authenticated as genuine Lapis Lazuli. Lapis has been used in jewelry since ancient times. It was considered the symbol of royalty, honor and power. It was often embedded in thrones, crowns and septors.
