Once again, we go “underground” for this treasure. The stone is called Lapis Lazuli and is known for it’s deep blue color. I kept it aside until I could find some complimentary beads to use with it …found these square blue ones in a gently used necklace at the local Goodwill store.

Description
Lapis Lazuli is a metamorphic rock that has been used for adornment since the 7th millennium BC. In fact, it was also ground fine and used as a blue pigment, which supplied some of the most famous painters with the color blue. I added some tiny silver colored spacers and a deep blue tassel. Earrings included.
