This piece uses seven different types of discard…wooden dowel rods, plastic bead tubes, spiral binder springs,spools, bent wire, silk cord, and re-use beads. This has a very modern industrial design and hangs long…top row 24″ and bottom row 30″. The clasp is a magnet and the cording is taupe silk.

Weeks ago I had bought some seed beads which are packaged in a tiny clear plastic tube…which I didn’t throw away as I knew I could come up with some way to use the empty tube. So, here we are ! All kinds of left overs come together for this creation. The silk cording is the only new material. I bent wire to make the filler for one tube. I cut and painted wooden dowel rods to coordinate with the cording color. I used a piece of the binding spiral from a training manual that I disassembled. And you will see a tiny spool of silk thread that I decoupaged to prevent it from unraveling so it could be used as a bead. The clasp is magnetic. Earrings included.
